Everyday English 1

This free course is for people who have little or no English language skills. Ideally suited for new migrants and refugees who need to learn the basics in a supportive learning environment.

Everyday English 2

This free course is for people who already have basic English language skills. Ideally suited for new migrants and refugees who need to improve their English language skills as well as those people who need to improve their literacy and numeracy.

These courses will help ESOL speakers gain confidence in the use of English and teach them about life and work in New Zealand.

Both courses are 12 weeks part time - 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Who is eligible:

  -  New Zealand citizens or residents

  -  New migrants and refugees or for people whom English is their second language

  -  People who are pre-literate or have low levels of English language and literacy

  -  People 16 years and over

Both courses are funded by the Tertiary Education Commission and are NZQA accredited and approved. For further information please refer to Learner eligibility on the TEC website.
