Training for Work
We offer a free Training for Work course at our Manukau and Panmure branches which is funded by the Ministry of Social Development. This course is available to applicants who are aged 18 and over and are referred by Work and Income New Zealand. Download the course brochure here.
This programme is designed to place the job seeker into employment. All areas of effective job seeking are covered including creating resumes and curriculum vitaes, application letters, interviewing skills, the methods and techniques of finding work in New Zealand.
Job seekers will also learn how to identify and talk about their skills, how to present themselves for an interview and how to understand employability skills in the New Zealand workforce.
Other areas that will be covered include business communication, time management, stress management, available community resources, customer service and dealing with the public, effective workplace relationships, health and safety in the workplace, understanding employment contracts and workplace etiquette.
This is a 13 week course and the hours are 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
